Intended use
ZED Cardio is intended for healthcare professionals or appropriately trained users. It provides calculation and reference support only. It does not replace clinical judgement, local guidelines, specialist review, or formal clinical reporting systems.
Data entered into the app
ZED Cardio may allow users to enter non-identifiable patient/session parameters required for calculations, including:
age or gestational age
sex
height
weight
body surface area
cardiovascular measurement values
selected modality, pathway, reference, or calculation type
calculated results, including Z-scores and related outputs
ZED Cardio is designed to support non-identifiable sessions. Users should not enter patient names, NHS numbers, hospital numbers, full dates of birth, addresses, or other directly identifiable patient information unless a future version of the app explicitly supports this with appropriate safeguards.
Local storage
ZED Cardio may store current session information and saved measurements locally on the user’s device so that results can be reviewed, edited, exported, or cleared by the user.
This locally stored information is not automatically uploaded to ZED Cardio servers.
Users can remove locally stored session information by using the app’s session controls, deleting saved sessions where available, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app.
PDF export, email, WhatsApp, and sharing
ZED Cardio allows users to export or share results, including by PDF export, native device share sheet, email, WhatsApp, download, or text copy.
Sharing or exporting only occurs when the user chooses to use these features.
When a user shares information through email, WhatsApp, cloud storage, messaging apps, or other third-party apps, that information is handled by the selected third-party service and is subject to that service’s own privacy policy and terms.
ZED Cardio does not control how third-party apps handle information after the user chooses to export or share it.
Feedback and support messages
If the app includes a feedback or support form, users may choose to send feedback to ZED Cardio.
Feedback may include information typed by the user, such as comments, an email address, screenshots, or technical details if the user chooses to provide them.
Feedback information is used only to respond to support requests, improve the app, investigate bugs, and maintain app quality.
Users should avoid including identifiable patient information in feedback messages.
Data automatically collected
ZED Cardio does not intentionally collect patient-identifiable information automatically.
If analytics, crash reporting, or diagnostic tools are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what information is collected, why it is collected, and how it is used.
Data sharing
ZED Cardio does not sell personal or sensitive user data.
ZED Cardio does not share locally stored patient/session calculation data with third parties unless the user actively chooses to export or share it using device sharing functions.
Data may be shared only in the following limited situations:
when the user chooses to export or share results
when the user sends feedback or support information
when required by law or valid legal process
with service providers used to operate support or feedback functions, where applicable
Data retention and deletion
Calculation sessions stored locally remain on the user’s device until the user deletes them, starts a new session, clears app data, or uninstalls the app.
Feedback or support messages sent to ZED Cardio may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, investigate issues, improve the app, and maintain appropriate records.
Users may request deletion of support or feedback information they have sent by contacting support@zedcardio.com.
Security
ZED Cardio aims to handle data securely and minimise the collection of personal or sensitive information.
Users are responsible for ensuring that exported PDFs, copied text, emails, WhatsApp messages, or downloaded files are handled according to their local clinical governance, privacy, and information governance requirements.
Children’s privacy
ZED Cardio is not directed at children and is not intended for use by children. The app is intended for healthcare professionals or appropriately trained users. Although the app relates to paediatric cardiology, it is not a child-directed app.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
